
Nielsen Mobile has released a white paper reporting ‘The worldwide State of The Mobile Web’. Nielsen has tracked 16 countries revealing that the US leads in mobile internet penetration. According to the paper, mobile web penetration in the Us has reached 15.6% with 40 million mobile subscribers.
Nielsen has collected data on more than one million users worldwide, and has analyzed, through an opt-in panel, mobile bill behaviors and voice&data quality.
The media research institute has also monitored leading Us carriers messaging, and metered the wireless activity of a panel of mobile phone users.
This results will open great opportunities for mobile advertising. One of three (26%) mobile internet user views ads while using the mobile and are more receptive to mobile advertising. For Nielsen the audience, inventory and planning tools are in place to make moblie internet an important media for marketing purpouses.
In Nielsen’s chart a special mention goes to the Uk and Italy, that has reached respectively the second (12.9%) and third (11.9%) place on worldwide mobile web penetration.
