Acordingly to Nielsen Online and Hitwise, consumers that followed the iPhone 3G launch are interested in more than just price. IPhone 3G launch was successfu in creating the online buzz (with more than 1/100 blog posts), buzz that is about not only the latest Apple creation but also about new technology in mobile communication.
Visitors of the iPhone website for the four weeks prior the launch in July 5 are increased from users of 45 years old (and older), from women and from users with incomes between $60,000/150,000.

Interest has grown also for the AT&T, iPhone exclusive service provider for the Us, website with more than 30% of visits compared with the week prior to last year’s iPhone launch. Iphone users has shown a different multimedia-appeal from competitors users (HTC, Research in Motion and Palm). In fact iPhone users use their devices for: 37% watch video on the phone (10 times as likely as the average mobile user), 82% access internet over the phone (5 times as likely as the average user), 17% stream music (7 times as likely as the average mobile user) and 20% play online games (9 times as likely as the average mobile user).
From these numbers we can easily see how wireless internet connection is a ‘top of mind’ concern. AT&T wireless site traffic level confirm mobile internet interest: last week wireless traffic was second only to the week of Christmas, ranking second-highest week in traffic over the past two years.

With a future global mobile penetration of about 75% by 2011 (accordinly to Portio), mobile market has never been so attractive.
